CLIPFAST / PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what ClipFast handles when you use the website, editor, account features, transcription, or optional AI clipping tools.

Effective October 8, 2026 · Version 1.0

In short: Manual editing and export are designed to run in your browser. We only send content to our servers or service providers when a feature needs it—for example, account sign-in, automatic captions, or AI analysis of a public recording.

ClipFast does not sell your personal information or use your video files for advertising.

1. Who we are

ClipFast is an online video editor for streamers and clip creators. In this policy, “ClipFast,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the operator of the ClipFast service at clipfast.live.

For privacy questions or requests, email support@clipfast.live.

2. Information we collect

Account and waitlist information

If you join the beta or create an account, we collect your email address and the account identifier provided by our authentication provider. We use this information to manage beta access, sign you in, enforce usage limits, and communicate about the service. Password credentials are handled by our authentication provider; ClipFast does not need your plaintext password.

Service activity

We keep the information needed to operate account features, such as beta status, usage counts, processing reservations, job status, saved AI results, and editor drafts. We also receive basic request information needed for security and rate limiting, such as an IP address or request metadata. Rate-limit records use a hash rather than storing the IP address as the account identifier.

Video, audio, and text you choose to process

  • Manual editor: source video, audio, captions, and exports are intended to stay in your browser. Files you choose from your device are not automatically uploaded just to edit or export them.
  • Automatic captions: when you request captions, the editor sends the audio required for transcription to the configured transcription provider. The raw audio is not stored in ClipFast’s application database, although the resulting transcript and word timing may be saved to complete the request and enforce beta usage.
  • AI clipping: when you submit a public Twitch VOD or YouTube URL, ClipFast stores the URL, job metadata, transcript/checkpoint data, suggestions, and any draft information needed to show and resume the job. The processor may fetch the public recording and store temporary preview or editor media in private object storage.

Technical information

Our hosting and security providers may process information such as browser requests, timestamps, approximate location derived from an IP address, device or browser characteristics, and error information. We do not currently run advertising pixels or sell browsing profiles.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve ClipFast.
  • Authenticate accounts and manage beta approval, quotas, and processing costs.
  • Run transcription and AI clipping when you explicitly request those features.
  • Save job progress, generated results, and drafts so you can return to them.
  • Respond to support, privacy, security, and account requests.
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and excessive automated traffic.
  • Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Service providers

ClipFast uses carefully scoped service providers to operate the product. Depending on the feature and configuration, they may include:

  • Supabase: authentication and hosted application data.
  • Cloudflare: website hosting, Workers, security, and private object storage for temporary generated media.
  • Deepgram, Groq, or ElevenLabs: audio transcription when the configured captioning provider is used.
  • OpenAI or Groq: AI analysis of transcript text and candidate moments when AI clipping is enabled.
  • Google: only when you choose Google sign-in, subject to Google’s own terms and privacy policy.

These providers process information only for the role they perform for ClipFast and may process it in countries outside your own. Their own terms and privacy policies also apply to their processing.

5. Storage and retention

We keep account and beta records while your account or request is active, or for as long as needed for security, accounting, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete or correct information by emailing support@clipfast.live.

Generated AI preview and editor media is temporary. The current processor configuration expires stored generated media after about 7 days, unless it is removed sooner or the configuration changes. Job metadata, transcripts, suggestions, and drafts may remain longer so the beta can resume work, measure usage, and prevent duplicate processing.

Files used only for local editing remain subject to your browser’s storage and your device settings. Clearing site data or closing a session can remove local editor state and object URLs.

6. Your choices and rights

  • You can choose whether to use account features, automatic captions, or AI clipping.
  • You can avoid sending a file to a provider by using local editing and export without server-backed features.
  • You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we control by contacting us.
  • You can revoke Google or other connected sign-in access through the relevant provider, though this may not delete records already created in ClipFast.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under data-protection law, including rights to object to or restrict processing, request portability, or complain to a supervisory authority. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

7. Security

ClipFast uses encrypted connections, HttpOnly session cookies for authenticated browser sessions, access controls, and provider security features. No online service is perfectly secure. If we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we will follow the notice requirements that apply to us.

8. Children

ClipFast is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as ClipFast changes. We will post the current version here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when reasonably practicable.

10. Contact

Questions, privacy requests, and deletion requests can be sent to support@clipfast.live.
